The Best Foods To Eat When You Are Sick




Since, it is getting cold these and whoever I meet these days complains about being sick. So, I thought why not do a blog about the food that are best to consume when you are sick. Also, added why they are best to be consumed during the sickness period.

1-      Soup

Soups like chicken soups are good source of nutrients (macro and micro nutrients). That includes proteins, vitamins and minerals. Soup aids in blocking of cells that are the reasons for the coughing and stuffy nose.

2-      Hot tea

Tea consists of natural bacteria-fighting compounds that aids in fighting off the bacteria. Apart from this, it has lots of other benefits but moderation is the key to a healthy body.

3-      Citrus fruits

These include oranges, grapefruit and lemons. Citrus fruits have one thing in common and that is their content of vitamin C. Due to their high content of vitamin C, they are a good option to reduce the severity of cold.

4-      Honey

Honey has lots of benefits including antibacterial effects and stimulation of immune system. It helps with the cough. (A broad blog will up about honey, very soon as honey has countless benefits and this blog isn’t just about honey, so wait for it).

5-      Spicy Foods

This was not what you were expecting, right? But, they contain capsaicin that breaks up the mucus. So, when you consume these, your body starts to loosen the mucus and phlegm that is causing obstruction in your body which helps you breathe a little better.
