How to prevent bloating?

How to prevent bloating?

In my last blog, I covered all the culprits that were responsible for a bloated stomach. In this blog, I shall cover all the possible health hacks that will prevent you from having this problem in the future.

In case, you have haven’t check out my previous blog, make sure you check that out too. The reason being that knowing the problem should be one’s priority and the second being solving the problem. Because, how can you solve it next time if you don’t really know the problem? You get the point, right?

Here is the link - Three Reasons For Having A Bloated Stomach!

So, as I mentioned in my previous blog, the three main reasons for a bloated stomach, now look at their solution.

1-      Air

Too much consumption of air happens when you chew a bubble gum. Chewing gum leads to swallowing of too much air that our body doesn’t need. When we do, our stomach tends to fill up like a balloon does with lots of air.

The second thing you can do is to stop the use of straws. Yes, straws lead to too much consumption of air. I know we all love to drink from the straws. But, if you can’t resist, then try drinking through it slowly. That shall help.

Next, is the way of breathing. Well, it does sound a bit weird, right? But it is one of the reasons. It is when you breathe a lot of air through your mouth. If you have ever been to yoga class, you will know that they tell you to inhale air through your nose and exhale through your mouth. So, try doing that.

Last but not the least, it is the way you are eating or swallowing your food. Remember how our parents say that you must eat slowly, chew it properly, digest your food and not rush eating. Well, it has a lot of meaning. If you don’t know it yet, then let me enlighten you that your digestion started in the mouth. The breaking down of food happens in the mouth first. However, if you are eating in a rush then you are likely to consume more air as well.

So, what you can do is slowly eat, take a bit. Put your fork down. Chew it properly and then go for the next bite.

2-      Sodium

Like I mentioned in my previous blog, sodium is culprit for a bloated stomach. The bloating can occur in any part of the body. It’s actually the food a person is consuming.

When you dine out, you don’t know how much the salt is added to the dished that you ordered. You have no control of that. You can’t possibly know the ingredients but I assure you, there is lots of sodium present. Because, well, sodium makes the dishes taste way better and the main objective of restaurants is to make it so tasty that you just can’t resist it.

Next, sodium is most likely to be present in the processed and frozen food as a preservative. No matter what the calories they have mentioned in the labeling, what matter is the sodium quantity. This sodium is going to be the cause of water retention.

My advice is try to avoid salt as much as you can. It not only cause bloating but it is bad for your health as salt is the reason for high blood pressure.

3-      Digestion

Like I said in my last blog, it is wide topic and all points can not be covered here but some tips for you are mentioned below.

Don’t drink water 20 minutes before as it will cause dilution of your enzymes and the acidic environment in the stomach needed for the enzymes.

Try not drink in middle of a meal or an hour after the meal

I know, a lot of people including myself, like to mix the fruits with other items but that’s not a healthy option for you since fruits are broken down very quickly as compared to other food items. When fruits are taken in with other food items, they are broken down and tend to stay there as they are not digested well. This causes a lot of bloating and can also lead to toxic buildup.

Best is try to eat fruits on an empty stomach. Fruits, itself are so tasty that they don’t need to be mixed with anything else. You can’t say the same for other food items but yeah.

I hope all this information helps you. You can suggest me topics you want to know more about. I will be coming up with another interesting topic for you all. So, make sure you subscribe via email! Also, follow up social accounts
