Drinking water in this posture is going to adversely effect you!



Nowadays, the temperature of water is more important than the posture. Since growing up, we all have heard the phrase “drink water while sitting not standing”. There is logic and scientific reason behind that. Keep reading to know all that you need to know.


These are few reasons that will make you sit down during drinking water.

1-      Stomach Wall

As you drink water while standing, the water flows at faster rate from the esophagus to the stomach wall area. It damages it. (You can try it at home, just throw water from up to down on anything resembling close to stomach wall and see what happens).
 

2-      Kidneys and impurities

Drinking at a fast speed or say high pressure due to standing, will lead to impurities being accumulated in the bladder. This will impact your kidneys severely.
 


3-      Tension

So, when you drink water while standing, your nerves are in a state of tension that leads to activation of fight system against danger.
 

4-      Joint problem and arthritis

Drinking water at higher speed will lead to joint problems and risk of arthritis
 

5-      Water is not absorbed

While you drink water standing up, you are depriving your body of water. Yes, you read that right. By drinking water standing, water goes down directly. It doesn’t get the chance to circulate as it can or should be doing, when you drink water while sitting.
 


6-      Lung and heart issues

When you are drinking it while standing, the windpipe as well as the food pipe are likely going to deprived of oxygen. If this habit continues, it will cause future lung issues and heart problems.

Therefore, sit down and sip your water slowly and steadily.
