Our lives have changed so much in these years leading to a
sedentary lifestyle from a healthy one. Walking is replaced by moving
cars/buses/motorbikes/escalators. Taking stairs have been replaced by lifts. Out-door
sports have been replaced by online games. Get-together's are all about watching
a movie or eating unhealthy and what not. I could continue with these for all
day but we will miss the point.
A healthy lifestyle is not only eating right or working out but in addition to that, it means to staying active all day. A 30 minute to an hour workout is not going to boost your metabolism whole day. It is affected by a series of healthy lifestyle changes. One of the way is by staying active.

What happens is that there is a decreases in the number of
calories you burn. When most of your day is spent sitting in one position and
no movement at all. Your metabolism is going to take that sign and just like
your position, it is going to be on a stand-by mode.
How can you cope with this?
1-Trying standing in between
your work if your work involves lots of sitting. Take a roundabout to just
another corner of your room.
2-Take stairs instead of lifts
3-More walking specially if the distance is nearby.
4-Decrease the amount of watching television.
5-Don’t snack while standing. Sit and enjoy your snack
